Customer Questions

Question:

I have a 90 Na that was originally a automatic but now it is 5 speed swapped as well as having the new style injectors. i know the z1 harness states that it does not work with the auto models. which wiring harness do i need ? thank you - Josh

Answer:

Hi Josh, you can use either one really. AT cars have an extra connector for the transmission control module. If you were to pick up an AT harness, it'll plug into that connector, but won't do anything of course. If you ordered a MT harness, it will just not have anything plugged into that connector (over by the relay box on the driver's side). No idea why Z1's harness won't work on a swap, but these work just fine.

Question:

So I want to 5spd swap my 93TT . I'm going to buy a new 98 Trans from you . But what drive shaft do I need, and if I buy a new wiring harness , do I purchase the 5speed harness and the 5speed alt harness? - Justin

Answer:

Hi Justin, you would still by a MT driveshaft, MT harness, and for the alt harness, buy the Auto to Manual swap harness.

Question:

Hi I have a 1990 300zx twin turbo. With 740cc injectors and the 300 degree fuel rail. I’m looking to update my engine wiring harness. But I was not sure which one to go with? Early style or Late style? - Irene

Answer:

Hey Irene, for that setup, you would want to select Late Style.

Very well made product. Packaged with goodies as well. Built and looks like oem. I will add I do wish some of the harness came out like the injector subharness. That part of the product was the best fabricated.

Ok so this wiring harness fit directly onto my '90z na with no issues. Here was my hang up - there were almost no identifying marks on any of the connectors other than the injector sub-harness. Don't freak out though because this website has a very detailed diagram of the harness including color coding which is handy for identifying the coils. I am very happy with this replacement harness and would recommend it to anyone seeking to evict their electrical gremlins.

Really good quality just sucks to install without pulling the engine but I got it done

FAQs

  • Will this fit my Z32? : This harness will fit any and all LHD Z32s except the USDM '96 (OBDII) model. Certain models will have some leftover connectors as these are designed to fit such a wide variety of models.
  • Which do I pick for an AT to MT swap car? : As far as the EFI harness is concerned, your car is a MT. You CAN still use an AT harness on a MT car, you'll just have one extra connector. Your starter inhibitor and reverse lights are handled by the Alternator/Transmission harness, which is a separate harness.
  • Which CAS/injector style do I select? : While we can determine what your car shipped with when it was new by year/model, these cars are 30 years old and most have passed through several owners now. If you don't know, you just have to go pop your hood and look!
  • If I'm retrofitting new style injectors, will I still need an adapter kit? : Selecting Late Style Injectors here will give you the right connectors, but you will still need the adapter kit for the injectors themselves. However, if you select Late Style injector connectors here, you can omit those from your injector adapter kit.
