Question:

I have a 90 Na that was originally a automatic but now it is 5 speed swapped as well as having the new style injectors. i know the z1 harness states that it does not work with the auto models. which wiring harness do i need ? thank you - Josh

Answer:

Hi Josh, you can use either one really. AT cars have an extra connector for the transmission control module. If you were to pick up an AT harness, it'll plug into that connector, but won't do anything of course. If you ordered a MT harness, it will just not have anything plugged into that connector (over by the relay box on the driver's side). No idea why Z1's harness won't work on a swap, but these work just fine.

Question:

So I want to 5spd swap my 93TT . I'm going to buy a new 98 Trans from you . But what drive shaft do I need, and if I buy a new wiring harness , do I purchase the 5speed harness and the 5speed alt harness? - Justin

Answer:

Hi Justin, you would still by a MT driveshaft, MT harness, and for the alt harness, buy the Auto to Manual swap harness.

Question:

Hi I have a 1990 300zx twin turbo. With 740cc injectors and the 300 degree fuel rail. I’m looking to update my engine wiring harness. But I was not sure which one to go with? Early style or Late style? - Irene

Answer:

Hey Irene, for that setup, you would want to select Late Style.

Question:

i dont know how to answer the question about the injector type, how do i know what the injector type is? i have a 1990 300zx NA with automatic transmission - William

Answer:

Hi William, a 1990 will have early style injectors.

Question:

Noticed that z1s harness description says that certain connections are different for manual and auto cars. How does this wiring specialties harness work for both automatic and manual cars? - Joseph

Answer:

Hi Joseph, it's not so much that they're different between AT and MT cars, it's more than AT cars have additional connectors. The Wiring Specialties harness just includes the connectors needed for both cars, so on a manual, you'll just have a few unused connectors.

Question:

Will this harness work on an 1990 automatic, if not do you have something that will? - Ethan

Answer:

Hi Ethan, yes it will. It will work on any LHD 90-95 300ZX, doesn't matter if it's MT or AT, TT or NA.
