Customer Questions

Question:

where does the retaining clip go? - Noel

Answer:

Hi Noel, it goes on the shifter right under the shift knob, to help hold the boot retainer up

Question:

Anyone had this shifter for over a year ? The short shifter ($169) reviews have said after 8 months the shifter has dropped an inch and resting on drive shaft which cause the boot to tear? Anyone have that problem with this shifter ? - Kevin

Answer:

Hey Kevin, we've had a pretty good track record with the Top Speed shifters; I have heard of the Z1 shifters having premature failure, and they do sell a rebuild kit, but it's pretty common.

Great product! Installed with brass bushings & shifting now feels solid as it should. The old unit was functioning more as an anti theft device than a shifter.

Just installed mine today, 100% happy with the purchade also got a solid shifter bracket, manner of the car completely changed

The instructions need some work, very vague and without useful pictures. I'm not sure if mine was messed up but the lower rod assembly was about .012" larger than the hole for the pivot ball assembly. I'm not sure if it was meant to be pressed on or what, but that was an annoying fitment issue.
