Description
The
OEM
Fuel
Pump
Hanger
Assemblies
have
been
discontinued
by
Nissan
for
years
now.
While
the
fuel
pumps
themselves
can
be
replaced
with
plenty
of
aftermarket
options,
this
does
little
to
address
the
issue
of
the
hanger
assembles
failing.
In
fact,
after
30+
years,
we
are
seeing
even
low
mileage
examples
exhibit
more
and
more
problems:
the
level
sensors
go
bad,
the
TT's
relief
valve
fails,
and
the
plastic
venturi
assemblies
crumble
away.
Thankfully,
we
have
discovered
full
OE
replacements
from
V12THROTTLE,
who
makes
similar
products
for
a
myriad
of
classic
vehicles.
While
these
are
not
original
Nissan
products,
we
feel
these
are
the
next
best
option.

Our
Experience
&
Recommendations
Like
with
any
aftermarket
product,
there
are
always
slight
differences
to
note,
compared
to
stock.
Because
of
the
complexity
involved
with
these
assemblies,
we
tested
these
on
a
few
of
our
personal
vehicles
here
at
CZP,
and
here
are
some
observations
we
made:
-
The
internal
wiring
is
14awg,
which
is
enough
to
power
the
Walbro
400
series
pumps.
The
underside
of
the
pass-through
terminals
use
a
simple
eyelet
and
nut
holding
it
in
place,
which
makes
it
a
breeze
to
swap
in
a
different
fuel
pump
connector
for
alternative
pumps.
-
The
lower
pump
bracket
accepts
a
standard
Denso-style
pump,
so
common
pumps
like
the
Walbro
255,
Deatschwerks
255/300,
and
AEM
pumps
will
fit
perfectly.
Any
with
a
larger
lower
base
(like
the
Walbro
450
or
525)
will
require
that
bracket
to
be
trimmed
or
modified.
-
The
level
sensors
have
small
tabs
that
act
as
stoppers
to
keep
them
from
going
up
or
down
too
high.
We
noticed
that
it's
POSSIBLE
for
the
stopper
tab
to
catch
on
the
side
of
the
sensor
assembly
when
moving
upwards.
However,
it's
not
really
possible
for
the
float
to
go
too
high
in
actual
use,
so
we
think
it's
a
good
idea
to
trim
or
clip
that
little
stopper
tab
to
prevent
it
from
catching
in
use.
-
We
tested
the
sensor
calibration
and
confirm
it
matches
the
OEM
sending
units,
both
by
comparing
our
measurements
to
a
stock
unit,
and
comparing
against
the
values
in
the
factory
service
manual
to
make
100%
sure
they
are
in
spec.
