The Fuel Temp Sensor is a temperature sensor mounted to the fuel rail on the Z32. It reads the fuel temperature to determine whether or not to raise the fuel pressure using the PRVR Solenoid

Function

The Fuel Temp Sensor employs a thermistor to return a variable voltage to the ECU which is translated into a temperature reading by the ECU. The ECU uses the temperature value to determine whether or not to activate the PRVR Solenoid when starting the engine.

It uses the same voltage - temperature conversion as the coolant temp sensor. In fact, aside from its shape and form factor, it is functionally identical to the coolant temp sensor.

Location

The Fuel Temp Sensor is located on the driver's side fuel rail, near the Cylinder 2 fuel injector. Its mounting position in the fuel rail is sealed. That is, it can be removed without any fuel escaping.
