Fuel Rail

The Fuel Rail is a two-piece assembly that houses the fuel injectors. The fuel rail should not be confused with the Upper Fuel Gallery (sometimes called the Upper Fuel Rail).

Function

The Fuel Rail mounts to the lower intake manifold and provides means for pressurized fuel to enter the fuel injectors, where it is released into the lower intake manifold (which takes it into the respective cylinder). It is mounted to the lower intake manifold by plastic grommets, and the injector seats are sealed against the lower intake manifold by rubber insulators. The two halves of the fuel rail are conjoined by a small piece of fuel hose.
