Customer Questions
Question:
I have a NA z32 but I have a lightweight flywheel about 4 months old and a new clutch my starter doesn’t fully engage I don’t know why I’ve changed starters twice already and does the same thing I’m not sure if this shim would help
- Matthew Camacho
Answer:
Hey Matthew, this is ONLY used if you're modifying an NA bellhousing to accept a TT flywheel/clutch kit. It will not help intermittent starter grind; that is practically always an issue either with the starter, or the ring gear on the flywheel.
Question:
I see this shim being advertised for just tranny swaps between na/tt. I have matching transmission/engine etc. But the starter needs shimmed from periodic grinding/false starts. Is this shim a common fix for this also or would you say its better to get generic starter shims of different thicknesses. I see this issue alot with the z32 but haven't come across this shim being answered as the correct fix and size. Thanks!
- Donnie fadel
Answer:
Hey Donnie, this won't fix periodic grinding. That's caused by a bad starter or bad flywheel (ring gear, either through wear or design). This is specifically for running an NA bellhousing over a TT flywheel.
