Description
The
oil
pressure
sending
unit
(or
sensor)
is
a
very
common
failure
point
on
the
300ZX.
If
your
oil
pressure
gauge
is
non-responsive
(either
maxed
out
or
showing
no
pressure),
but
you
otherwise
have
normal
oil
pressure,
the
sensor
is
usually
the
best
place
to
start.
In
addition
to
the
sensor,
another
thing
to
look
out
for
is
the
oil
filter
tree
O-ring.
This
is
located
inside
the
oil
filter
tree,
where
it
meets
the
block,
and
often
shrinks
and
hardens
over
the
years,
which
can
also
cause
a
low
indicated
oil
pressure
(even
if
the
ACTUAL
oil
pressure
in
the
engine
is
still
good).
