Customer Questions

Question:

Do I need to do a run in period without load and then do an oil change since it's a completely new box or is it ok to run with the redline mt directly after install? - Greg

Answer:

Hi Greg, you can run Redline fluid right after install, we just recommend changing your fluid again after 1,000 miles or so.

Question:

Do you use the old speed sensor off of the old transmission or does this come with it's own new one. - Dustin

Answer:

Hey Dustin, it does not include the speed sensor, so you would need to transfer your old one over.

Question:

Says u can bolt on to a NA motor with the clutch and flywheel and I did some asking around and someone said the clutch pedal might feel different since it uses a booster. And is there anything else - Richie

Answer:

They do feel a little different, but yes you can bolt up a TT clutch and flywheel and use a TT transmission on an NA.

Been running in this new transmission over 2k miles without any issues. It was several hundred dollars cheaper to have shipped by CZP vs going to my local dealership and it was packaged beautifully. Shifts beautifully. Glad to have the lady back on the road.

Amazing transmission, zero grind and smooth.

Description

The Z32's transmission was ahead of its time, with double-cone synchronizers to facilitate faster shifting. However, these synchros were also soft and prone to failure, especially as years of abuse and fast shifting take their toll. This leads to crunching and grinding between gears, especially in 2nd and 4th gears.

In 1998, Nissan revised the transmission design to use more durable synchronizers, and many of the internals were updated in the process. The shift gate was also revised slightly to allow for faster shifts from 2nd to 3rd, and 4th to 5th. Not only will they last longer, but shifting is buttery smooth, so it's more enjoyable to drive!

Includes:

  • Complete, brand new Nissan OEM transmission assembly
  • Clutch pivot ball
  • Clutch release fork
  • Throw-out bearing sleeve
  • Throw-out bearing
  • Reverse sensor switch
  • Neutral sensor switch

All of the above accessories and components are pre-installed by Nissan for an easy install.

We would like to point out...

  • This is a brand new complete genuine Nissan OEM transmission. It is not rebuilt or remanufactured.
  • Nissan offers very limited warranty coverage on transmissions. Should you have an issue, you will need to take the transmission to your local dealer to have them "condemn" the transmission. The warranty does not cover any labor, shipping, diagnostics or inspection fee, and completion of the warranty is entirely up to the dealership's discretion. That said, because these are brand new transmissions, it is extremely rare for them to have any issues whatsoever.
  • Nissan ships their transmissions pre-filled with fluid to prevent the internals from corroding during storage and shipping. This fluid is not meant to be driven on, and you must change the fluid before driving the vehicle. You must run GL-4 Type fluid, like Red Line or Nissan MT Fluid.
  • We insure all of our packages for shipping. While we take additional steps to prevent any mishaps during shipping, please contact us immediately should your package arrive damaged. Please note that it is possible for the pre-filled fluid to leak out during transit if any of the plugs/caps are jostled loose. Because the fluid has to be changed anyway, we are not able to replace transmissions that simply leaked their fluid during transit.
  • European model cars with the factory manual transmission cooler will need to either delete their transmission cooler, or drill/tap the holes in the new transmission's housing to accept the factory banjo bolts for these cooler lines.

Our transmissions are professionally repacked to make sure they ship safely and complete, and our shipments are insured just in case. This only Applies to FedEx/UPS Shipping. Freight Shipments are secure, and do not require this extensive procedure
