What is a CD009?

There is a lot of rumor and misinformation surrounding what this term means. It's simply half of a part number. 32010-CD009 is the part number for a manual transmission out of an 05-06 350Z, 05-06 G35 Sedan, or 05-07 G35 Coupe, that's it. Earlier versions ended in CD003, CD005, CD008, etc.

The "CD009" variant, later replaced with the CD00A, just specifies the most sought-after variant, as it shipped with upgraded synchros over the earlier versions.

Note that if you have a transmission from a later 07+ Z, 370Z, G37, etc, those were never a CD009, and follow later part suffixes like "JK400." While they share similar internals to the CD009 (since they came after), they have different bellhousings and clutch release mechanisms.

What does this purchase get me?

In short: You give us the VIN, we tell you the part number of the transmission that vehicle shipped with from the factory. This allows you to identify a loose transmission (with a VIN plate) in cases where you don't have the vehicle info or aren't able to decode the VIN.

If you're not sure of the donor car or production date of a transmission, this purchase will have us reverse-search your transmission against Nissan's database to confirm whether or not it is the CD009, and we will email you confirmation of which part number your transmission is.

What else does this tell me?

All we can determine is which part number a vehicle would have shipped with from the factory. We can't see mileage or history on the transmission, and this is isn't an assessment of how good the transmission is--just what it is.
