Customer Questions

Question:

Using a TT manual transmission on a n/a car would I still pick an n/a option? - Kyric

Answer:

Hi Kyric, yes you would. The TT and NA MT transmissions are really the same (other than the bellhousing), so in this case, the choice between NA and TT really dictates the length and the flange based on the differential. Since your car is (presumably) still running the NA differential, you would basically still spec for NA.

Question:

I noticed that some one asked about the center bearing on the steel one piece. Does this drive shaft ALSO replace the need for the center bearing? - James

Answer:

Yes, it basically obfuscates the stock carrier bearing.

Question:

Does the TT option have a higher strength rating? - Joseph

Answer:

Hi Joseph, they are the same for NA and TT

I purchased this 2-Seater Manual 300ZX NA Aluminum Driveshaft through CZP with the NVH dampening foam to replace an aging stock driveshaft with worn center bearing that gave me a vibration at highway speeds. What a difference it made, it felt perfectly balanced and has been butter smooth along with a very noticeable difference in quicker engine response. A great upgrade! I highly recommend it.

CZP By Inland Empire Aluminum Driveshafts are manufactured from custom drawn 6061-T6 D.O.M. aluminum tubes for consistent strength utilizing 6061-T6 aluminum forged weld yokes for strengthened grain structure. Internal stress induced by the machining process is reduced by working with the grain structure resulting in a more durable product. This reliability is enhanced by our "State of the art" welding processes. Our products have passed Spicer's grueling dynamic reverse torsion testing and have qualified us as an authorized aluminum shaft builder. Competition

State-of-the-art welding processes for improved reliability.

Inland Empire Driveline Service's products have passed Spicer grueling dynamic reverse torsion fatigue testing requirement.
One of the very few Spicer authorized aluminum drive shaft builders in the world.
Inland Empire Driveline Service also routinely makes proof tests in static torsion.

Note: ALL aluminum driveshafts will exhibit a metallic resonating noise that the original 2pc steel driveshaft naturally dampens. This is normal and will not affect performance, but if you are concerned about cabin noise, you may prefer a Steel Driveshaft, which still provides significant weight savings over the OEM driveshaft, but is going to run quieter than aluminum. Inland Empire now also offers a foam filling option for aluminum driveshafts, which significantly reduces noise and resonance without adding any noticeable weight. This is the best weight to enjoy buttery smooth operation while still getting the weight savings of an aluminum driveshaft. Please allow 3-5 days for shipping with this option.

Note: These are normally built to order, and ship out in 1-2 weeks directly from the factory.
