My car is an auto to manual conversion and still runs the auto ECU. Should I select auto or manual in the options list?
- Justin
Hey Justin, select for Manual
Hi I'm planning on doing the na to tt swap. I see you guy have an option for that. Now is that for putting the turbos on the na motor. Bevause that what I'm doing . Running the high compression motor. And if so can I use this eprom chip for the tuning of the car.
- James connor
Hi James, the option on this chip is for swapping a TT motor into an NA chassis. Unfortunately we do not have a chip that will support a boosted NA motor.
what is the maximum boost pressure you can run with this chip
- ken
We normally recommend 14psi on 91 octane, or 16psi on 93 octane.
Can these drop into JWT socketed ECU's as well?
- Billy
Hey Billy, yes they can
Hi I'm interested in getting one of these chips but I was wondering if I have a single maf set up now and got the chip, would I need a new chip if I upgraded to the dual maf setup or would the chip be able to adjust?
- Cody
Hey Cody, you'll definitely want to get it for single intake now, and when you do dual intake, as long as you get the Selin translator, you can use it without changing the chip. You'd just need to run the Selin translator in Add mode.
For a dual intake setup, will the ecu need to read two MAF sensors ?
- Scott
You can run a single MAF + a dummy MAF but you'll want to run a "low speed driveability" hose like the old JWT dual intake kits did back in the day. The preferable way to do a dual intake is with the Selin Translator, which does indeed read two MAFs in parallel.
Does this chip upgrade eliminate the AIVs?
- Kevin
Hey Kevin, they do turn off the AIV solenoid flag by default. We can keep it on at your request if you prefer.
Will the chip automatically adjust my ignition timing if my car was previously set for 93oct but I’m now on the west coast where only 91 is available? Also, I see there’s no longer an option if I have boost jets or not. Will that be an issue/matter?
- Erik
Hey Erik, basically you'll want to select whatever octane fuel you currently run. As it replaces any previous chips, it won't matter what you had set up in the past. And it is compatible with boost jets; those are simply one way of raising the boost.
Needing to order an eprom for a Z32 I'm working on. When selecting the year, do I select the year of the car or the year of the ecu? Also, does it come with a sticker or label for the outside of the ecu? Doesn't really matter, just curious.
Hey there, you'll want to select the year of your ECU. The chip itself will have a printed label with the options selected, as well as your Order #, for easy look-up in the future, but does not have a sticker to go on the outside of the ECU.
