Our track driver, Brett, recently took a trip out to Japan and was lucky enough to score a personal tour of the Nissan Heritage Museum in Zama, Japan. This museum is also known as the Datsun Nissan Automuseum, or DNA garage, which is especially appropriate as it really does showcase a lot of Nissan’s history over the years. Because it’s not open to the public, Brett was understandably excited about this trip!
And he was nice enough to share all of the pictures he took with us, so I thought we’d share them here for you guys to see! The rest of this post will basically be a photo collection and I’ll do my best to identify the weird and rare ones posted.
1930s
1950s
1960s
1970s
I thought this was kind of funny; I didn’t see any cars missing a fender on Nissan’s site for the Heritage museum. But there’s one, out of the entire collection, facing the wrong direction…
1980s
If you didn’t see our feature on the MID-4, check it out here!
1990s
Keep an eye out for this one, we’ll have a feature on the R390 here soon 🙂
That 1983 Silvia Sport Silhouette looks crazy.
I love the 1990’s Nissan craziness.
So jealous!!! My #1 BUCKET LIST PLACE TO VISIT!! Thanks for sharing, guys!!
Awesome! Way-to-go Brett. What a great deal for you and Care. We’re so proud of you!
Visited these holy halls in January this year. Definitively a day worth remembering!!!
r390 is like the most beautiful thing to look at!😅
I wander if the cars with the Nissan 1200cc engine are remembered. There were raced and overworked all over the place back in the 70’s. They even had a little pick up truck with that engine. They would not quit. Nissan has quite the heritage.
Those Safari Rally cars are so iconic. I still have my Tamiya 1/12th scale kit of that Z-car. Thanks!
I am in Japan in October, can you tell me who or where I have to contact, to be in with a chance of a tour.
