Customer Questions

Question:

how long is the break in period? Also what is a safe rpm to shift or drive at? - VICTOR

Answer:

We recommend a 500-1000 mile break-in. You can drive normally, you just don't want to rev it out or do any launches.

Question:

Hello, Is this clutch suitable for road use? thank you - Germond

Answer:

Hi Germond, this clutch is great for a car that's daily driven and occasionally sees more aggressive driving. The pedal is barely stiffer than stock and it still has smooth engagement like a stock clutch.

Question:

What stage clutch is this? - Cole

Answer:

JWT doesn't rate their clutches in stages, but we consider it to be comparable to other Stage 2 & 3 clutches.

Just got this in along with the Zspeed HD CSC and OEM master. Clutch engagement is a little heavier than stock but nothing crazy, its perfect, the engagement point is a little lower. Will be boosted soon.

2008 350z daily driven. I have this kit matched with the cmak, stock oem master and it's great. I'm still in the break in prosses so I haven't been over 3000 rpm but the car has been reborn. Everything is crisp the clutch pedal engagement/bite point is low. It revs so quick and down shifting is not as harsh on the car. The chatter is loud but mainly if you're at low rpm in a higher number gear (4,5,6) but if you don't care about gas mileage or the cost of premium gas you can avoid the chatter.

JWT clutch and flywheel set. I'm going to start out and say I loved this clutch kit so much i bought it again! First one lasted 50,000 hard miles (vehicle is not daily driven but experiences very spirted driving along with occasional drifts and burnouts on the weekends). The clutch is beginning to slip but considering how hard the clutch was abused id give it my recommendation for anyone wanting a clutch that is still street drivable but has aggressive engagement with good clamping force.

Description

This is the best clutch/flywheel combo available for the VQ35HR/VQ37VHR Models. With 1200KG clamping force, the need for a harsh, non-organic friction material is eliminated. This clutch makes a solid connection even with our nitrous spool-up kit to 570+HP. JWT Flywheels are made using the highest quality and most modern materials available. A noticeable, quicker acceleration will be experienced. JWT flywheels are 14lbs in weight, compared to the heavy 28lb stock flywheel.

The Stainless Steel Clutch Line is a must have any upgraded clutch. This will eliminate the mushy pedal feel, that ALL Z's have after installing high clamping force clutches. The kit works wonders with Dual Disc clutches as well. By eliminating all soft points in your hydraulic system, it adds to pedal response, feel, and gives you a little more adjustability in the pedal height!

Pilot Bushing
A stock bronze pilot bushing is included with each clutch kit, and we generally find this to be the easiest and most trouble-free to install and run. If you prefer a needle-bearing style pilot bushing, the Nismo pilot bushing is available as an option above.

Package Includes

  • Clutch: Pressure Plate & Disc
  • Flywheel: Aluminum or Iron Nodular
  • Pilot Bushing: Bronze Sleeve or Nismo Needle Bearing
  • Stainless Steel Clutch Line
  • Alignment Tool
