Description
The
stock
clutch
fork
is
made
from
stamped
steel,
and
flexes
under
pressure,
especially
with
upgraded
clutches.
This
causes
the
clutch
to
feel
somewhat
mushy,
and
even
have
difficulty
disengaging.
The
stock
pivot
ball
has
also
been
known
to
break,
completely
disabling
the
clutch
release
mechanism
and
leaving
you
stranded.
When
the
350Z
was
released,
it
used
the
exact
same
clutch
fork
and
pivot
ball
combo
as
the
earlier
R32.
In
2004,
Nissan
changed
this
to
an
improved
design
which
uses
a
cast
iron
clutch
fork
and
a
shortened
pivot
ball.
The
new
clutch
fork
is
much
stronger,
and
has
virtually
no
flex
when
disengaging
the
clutch.
We
now
offer
this
kit
as
a
retrofit
for
the
R32,
and
this
kit
can
be
built-to-order
to
include
our
upgraded
chromoly
pivot
ball
which
is
a
stronger
design
to
prevent
failure,
along
with
a
new
OEM
boot.

Customer Questions
Question:
Does this work with a OEM RB25 pivot ball, or do I need to purchase a shortened one in the kit?
- Devon
Answer:
Hi Devon, the upgraded fork requires the shorter pivot ball. We only have the option to exclude the pivot ball because we get a few people who order clutch combo kits which include the pivot ball, so it helps them avoid getting a duplicate.
Question:
Hello i’m just wondering where the little clip goes on the 98 spec transmission and if i need to maybe buy a different sized bearing
- Keenan
Answer:
Hi Keenan, the little clip goes into the fork, in the center, and it clips onto the pivot ball. And you do not need a different size bearing, they all use the same size.
