Hey Nickolas, you will need to run the shorter pivot ball with this upgraded fork

Do I need to adjust the clutch peddle with fork upgrade? Will be using aftermarket flywheel and clutch, Stage 1 - Kenneth J Naccarato

Answer:

Hi Kenneth, we'd recommend adjusting the pedal whenever you change the clutch or the fork, pretty much any time you mess with any component in the system, the pedal will likely need to be adjusted.

Description

The stock clutch fork is made from stamped steel, and flexes under pressure, especially with upgraded clutches. This causes the clutch to feel somewhat mushy, and even have difficulty disengaging. The stock pivot ball has also been known to break, completely disabling the clutch release mechanism and leaving you stranded.

In 2004, Nissan changed this to an improved design which uses a cast iron clutch fork and a shortened pivot ball. The new clutch fork is much stronger, and has virtually no flex when disengaging the clutch. We now offer this kit as a retrofit for the '03 350Z, and this kit can be built-to-order to include our upgraded chromoly pivot ball which is a stronger design to prevent failure, along with a new OEM boot. Just select from the options above!

  • 03-06 350Z
  • 03-06 G35 Coupe
  • 03-07 G35 Sedan

Please note this kit is not necessary on the 04+, as these vehicles already have this upgrade standard.

  • Heavy Duty Clutch Fork
  • Shortened Pivot Ball (OEM or Chromoly)
  • Pivot Ball Spring
  • Throw-Out Bearing Spring

Additional accessories are available as options above, as the labor involved makes it a good time to also replace the throw-out bearing, pilot bushing, and stainless steel clutch line to really make the clutch system feel brand new!
