Yes, resonators help reduce rasp, and refine the exhaust note.
If I didn’t include the resonator where the sound produce by the exhaust be louder?

hi i was looking at purchasing this item abut i was wondering if this it the piece that bolts from the headers to the cat back?
That's correct, this would replace the factory catalytic converter pipes, so they do go between the headers and the catback.
