Hi Shandee, it's "variable diameter" because it does change at different points in the piping, but for the most part it's 2.5"
Whats the difference between the Standard Oiled Filters and the Dry Filters?
What option would be the best?

Dry filters have a denser filter element, so they're arguably better for actual filtration, but not as good for performance. The standard filters have a slightly more coarse filter element, and relies on oiling to keep the filters sticky enough to capture tiny particles of dust. So the standard filter is a little better for performance.
