Do you need the light socket or just the plug for them to work

You don't need anything, they just plug and play. There is one connector on earlier cars that will go un-used.
Is this a direct plug and play? Or is modification to the harness required?

Hi Chris, there's no modification required. If you're installing this on the 03-05, you just don't use the second connector that the early tail lights use.
Does it allow to legally use it in Europe ? I think it should be a sign "E"

Hey there, these are from the US Models. Fitment is the same, but they are only cleared for use in the US.
