The '''Fuel Temp Sensor''' employs a thermistor to return a variable voltage to the ECU which is translated into a temperature reading by the ECU. The ECU uses the temperature value to determine whether or not to activate the PRVR Solenoid when starting the engine. <br /> <br /> It uses the same voltage - temperature conversion as the [[Coolant Temp Sensor|coolant temp sensor]]. In fact, aside from its shape and form factor, it is functionally identical to the coolant temp sensor.<br /> <br />

The Fuel Temp Sensor is located on the driver's side [[Fuel Rail|fuel rail]], near the Cylinder 2 [[Fuel Injector|fuel injector]]. Its mounting position in the fuel rail is sealed. That is, it can be removed without any fuel escaping. <br /> <br />
