Customer Questions

Question:

In the photo, dead center next to the starter bypass, is a gray connector that's not on the manual transmission harness. What is it for? I don't have it connected to anything at the moment. - Garret

Answer:

Hey Garrett, it connects to the body harness (and the other end is only there on the automatics) to make the reverse lights work.

Question:

What is the single looped plug for? - Jeff Harris

Answer:

Hey Jeff, that bypasses the starter inhibitor so you don't need to wire up the pedal

Description

Converting your Z from Auto to 5-speed? We now offer a harness to make Automatic to 5-speed conversions easier than ever; while keeping actual factory style connectors in the harness so it can easily be disconnected in the future if needed (without having to cut hardwired connections).

The Wiring Specialties 300ZX Alternator to Transmission (manual) harness is now available as a plug and play alternative to the high priced OEM replacement. Due to decades of underhood heat exposure and often leaks in the engine bay, problems are commonly found in this neglected harness; starting issues, erratic or inoperative gauges, reverse lights not working, and charging systems problems have all been found here in our shop on customers cars at one time or another. Until now the only option was either patch repairs on harnesses that are already in bad shape, or a new replacement harness that list for over $348.00. Don't let your stubborn, old harness cause you problems any longer. Freshen up that engine and eliminate future worries or electrical problems.
