READ BEFORE INSTALL OR WASTE $25 LIKE I DID!!: Set shifter in a vice upright loosely by the flange/collar. Thread an M10x1.25 nut on top of shifter till it's level with top. Mark flange height with sharpie for assembly. Use hammer on top of shifter to knock shifter through collar. Grease then slide expandable plastic pivot ring over top of shifter. I broke it trying from the bottom. http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1156520/How-to-Make-your-own-short-shifter.html

Rebuilt an OEM shifter with this kit. Made it feel new again! Much better feel in the shifter.

This kit in combination with the bronze bushings is a must do to make the sloppy shifter tight again. The previous review offers good advice.
