Customer Questions

Question:

Does this support R134a and RHD? - sakana

Answer:

Hey Sakana, this one is correct for R134A and does fit RHD.

Question:

So if I have a 90-93 AC system, do I pick the 90-93 option with the pigtail? - Vincent

Answer:

That, or you can transfer over the pressure switch from your original receiver drier. But the new-style one included with this receiver drier is actually better anyway, so we recommend swapping the connector and running the new sensor anyway.

Question:

Does this receiver drier come with the pressure safety switch? - Shane Rowatt

Answer:

It does, but it is only available with the new-style switch. The new style switch works on earlier R12 cars too, but you will need to change the connector, so we have added a drop-down option to pick up the connector for these cases too.

Description

The Receiver Drier plays a key role in A/C system performance and longevity. The A/C dryer removes water and some dirt from the refrigerant and also stores a certain amount of refrigerant as it cycles through the system. The drier should always be replaced anytime the A/C system is opened.

Please Note: The early R12 (90-93) receiver/drier has been discontinued by Nissan, and the late style is now the only version available. The new style can still be used on a car which originally came with an early style, but the safety pressure switch uses a different connector, which we have made available as an option above. This can also be considered an upgrade, as the new-style pressure switch is a two-way safety switch (disabled the A/C system if the pressure is too high or too low), while the early style was one-way (only disabled if the pressure was too low).

Alternatively, you can swap your old pressure switch onto the new receiver/drier, but keep in mind the pressure switch uses an O-ring which Nissan does not sell separately.
