Hi there, just trying to figure out some things. I have a NA 96 Z32 2+2, I bought an aftermarket kit to rebuild the manual transmission, but I am having doubts on the longevity of the rebuild vs getting the new 98-Spec, It is my understanding that the tranni will work on a NA engine with the use of a TT flywheel clutch kit ? if so, then the question of the speedo sensor comes up, is the NA transmission sensor not going to work with the TT one ? is it a gear change the issue or ? what else? thxs

Hey Daniel, you are correct that you can use the 98 Spec (TT) Transmission on the NA, as long as it's paired with a TT clutch & flywheel. Internally NA and TT transmissions are the same (it's only the bellhousings that are slightly different), so you would still want to run an NA Speed Sensor + Gear. The sensor and gear need to basically be matched together (so both should be NA), but you would still want to run an NA sensor setup since it needs to match the ratio of the differential to be accurate. You'd only need to change to the TT sensor/gear if you were running a TT Subframe & Differential.
