Can I still use my stock z32 throw out bearing sleeve with this 350z clutch fork or do I need to buy a 350z one as well? - Jaime

Answer:

Hey Jaime, you still use the 300ZX TOB. Actually, 300ZX and 350Z use the same TOB anyway :) The sleeve/carriers are different, but you do stick to 300ZX for that.

Is the 300zx upgraded clutch fork and 350z upgraded clutch fork the same? Is it just a different pivot ball? - Rashaad

Answer:

Hi Rashaad, it's specifically the 04-06 350Z fork & pivot ball. The 300ZX, and the 2003 350Z, both use the same stamped steel fork and long pivot ball. In 2004, Nissan switched to the cast iron & shorter pivot ball, and that's what we upgrade to.

Description

The stock clutch fork is made from stamped steel, and flexes under pressure, especially with upgraded clutches. This causes the clutch to feel somewhat mushy, and even have difficulty disengaging. The stock pivot ball has also been known to break, completely disabling the clutch release mechanism and leaving you stranded.

When the 350Z was released, it used the exact same clutch fork and pivot ball combo as the 300ZX. In 2004, Nissan changed this to an improved design which uses a cast iron clutch fork and a shortened pivot ball. The new clutch fork is much stronger, and has virtually no flex when disengaging the clutch. We now offer this kit as a retrofit for the 300ZX, and this kit can be built-to-order to include our upgraded chromoly pivot ball which is a stronger design to prevent failure, along with a new OEM boot. Just select from the options above!

Fits all manual-transmission 300ZX, 90-96, NA or TT.

Includes:

  • Heavy Duty Clutch Fork
  • Shortened Pivot Ball (OEM or Chromoly)
  • Pivot Ball Spring
  • Throw-Out Bearing Spring

Additional accessories are available as options above, as the labor involved makes it a good time to also replace the throw-out bearing, pilot bushing, and stainless steel clutch line to really make the clutch system feel brand new!
