Fuel Pressure Regulator

The Fuel Pressure Regulator is a device that maintains fuel at a specified pressure. In the case of the Z32, it's about 43.4psi relative to intake manifold pressure. The FPR acts as a sort of "dam" that allows a limited amount of fuel to return to the fuel tank in order to maintain fuel pressure at the desired amount, while adjusting that fuel pressure to compensate for changes in intake manifold pressure. That is, at atmospheric (WOT in an NA, "0psi" in a TT) it maintains fuel pressure at about 43.4psi. At idle, it drops down to about 33.4psi, and at 10psi (in turbo applications) raises the fuel pressure to 53.4psi.
Note: While similar in appearance, the Fuel Pressure Regulator should not be confused with the Fuel Dampener.

Versions
- Original, from-the-factory Fuel Pressure Regulators were painted black. Being that most of these are 20 years old, an original fuel pressure regulator should be replaced sooner rather than later.
- Replacement fuel pressure regulators are either zinc-plated (light gold in color) or nickel-plated (light silver in color).
- NA and TT fuel pressure regulators are interchangeable, given that they're in good condition. They are the same part.
